North Lewisburg's Magistrate Court began in April 2002. Prior to the Village establishing a Magistrate/Mayor’s Court, all Traffic Violations and Misdemeanor Violations were sent to the Champaign County Municipal Court, and all revenue generated was kept at the Champaign County Municipal Court. Since establishing the court system in the village, the revenue stays within the Village of North Lewisburg.
